1367 women & children helped through national Rapid Rehousing Fund

Every few months, our community partners at Launch Housing share an update with us on the social impact of the national Rapid Rehousing Fund we created together and launched in December 2014.
The fund was developed to help women and children at risk of or experiencing homelessness as a result of domestic violence – which is the number one cause of homelessness among women and children in Australia.
Since the fund was first implemented in February 2015, it has provided 1367 women & children across every state and territory with financial assistance – which includes 884 children across 483 households. The top three areas the funding is used to provide support is bond assistance, the purchase of essential furniture and white-goods and rent in advance.
The reason the fund has been successful to date is simple: when women and children present at Launch Housing or any of the partner agencies around the country (see list below) and are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, the fund is available to provide the required assistance immediately. There is no red tape or bureaucracy around releasing the funds – it’s there to provide help when it’s most needed, which is straight away.
The team at REA Group is incredibly proud of the impact Launch Housing has made through the management and delivery of the national Rapid Rehousing Fund and we feel privileged to have Launch Housing as our major community partner.
National Rapid Rehousing Fund partner agencies: VIC: Launch Housing and Justice Connect; QLD: Micah Projects; WA: Ruah Community Services; ACT: DVCS; SA: Women’s Safety Services; NSW: Norther Rivers Social Development Council; TAS: Anglicare; NT: Dawn House.
