Launch Housing is committed to Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging: It is central to our values, and mission.
We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their best.
Diversity is more than just policies and practices. It is an integral part of who we say we are as an organisation and how we claim to operate. Each of us has a role to play in nurturing a sense of belonging.
Our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Strategy outlines a path to fostering a workplace where everyone feels safe, valued, and able to be their true selves at work. This commitment is key to both the well-being of all staff and to delivering more effective and impactful services for those we support. By ensuring our practices are safe and inclusive, we can be more resilient and better meet the diverse needs of clients and renters.
This transformative framework is designed to create meaningful and lasting change.
Each pillar incorporates co-design elements and engages community groups, ensuring the active involvement of Launch colleagues, clients, renters, and residents. These pillars are deeply connected to Launch Housing’s mission, produced, and driven collaboratively within our organisation.
This pillar focuses on embedding cultural safety through the implementation of Launch Housing’s first Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), which is part of a two-year strategy. The RAP aims to build stronger relationships with First Nations communities, foster cultural awareness, and enhance inclusivity across all aspects of the organisation.
This pillar promotes unity and mutual understanding by encouraging cultural exchange, allyship, and shared learning. By fostering a culture of openness and respect, we aim to build awareness, celebrate diversity, and create a more inclusive workplace for people from all backgrounds.
Rooted in a foundation of understanding, this pillar seeks to elevate the voices and experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals. Through storytelling, shared wisdom, and collaboration, we aim to foster a stronger sense of community, resilience, and solidarity within and beyond the organisation.
With one in five people living with a visible or invisible disability, this pillar focuses on promoting awareness, accessibility, and inclusion. We aim to create spaces where people can share stories of strength, support one another, and work towards reducing barriers for individuals with disabilities.
Acknowledging the challenges of ageism and the persistent gender pay gap, this pillar explores ways to support diverse needs across age groups and genders. By raising awareness and implementing strategies to address age and gender inequities, we aim to foster an environment that values and supports everyone. Launch Housing is proud to have a gender pay gap of less than 1%, and we aim to keep it that way!
With half of our workforce actively engaged in caregiving responsibilities, this pillar recognises the unique challenges faced by carers. Whether supporting young children, ageing relatives, or chosen family, we aim to provide practical support, flexibility, and recognition for those navigating the demands of caregiving.
This pillar prioritises robust processes and procedures to support individuals affected by family violence and homelessness. By fostering awareness, providing training, and implementing effective interventions, we aim to ensure that our organisation is equipped to support staff and clients experiencing these challenges.
